What you need to hire a van from us
So you want to hire or rent a van from us, that's great, but here's a few things you should know before attempting to book.
ZERO DEPOSIT will be charged upfront upon collection of the van. Only the hire price of the van will be charged on the day. The hirer must provide a debit/credit card registered in their name to be kept on file for the duration of their hire in the event of damages on return. Minor damages i.e dinks/dents/scuffs are charged at £200. Any damages not considered as minor incur the full excess amount.
The hirer needs to have held a driver’s licence for a minimum of 2 years and not been disqualified within the last 36 months.
Not have insurance declined or cancelled or refused renewal
Aged between 25– 75
Drivers aged between 21-25 may be considered subject to checks and our discretion.
No more than 6 penalty points under 5 years.
No more than 1 accident within the last 3 years
All UK licence holders must go on to the DVLA website within 21 days of your reservation and create a share code or produce their national insurance number. Along with their driving licence and proof of address RECEIVED WITHIN THE LAST 3 MONTHS. This must be either a bank statement or a utility bill.
We accept all major credit and debit cards for Vanfirm in Birmingham. The invoiced amount will be charged to the card provided upfront upon placing the booking with Vanfirm
Up to 250 miles per day are included in the hire price, an extra charge of 10p + VAT per mile is applicable if you go over the set limit.
Will I be charged if I cancel my reservation?
If you did not prepay for your reservation there will not be a cancellation fee. If you prepaid your booking and you cancel 5 days or more before your specified pick up time you will receive a full refund of the total amount. If you have prepaid and cancel your booking less than 5 days before your specified pick up time we will refund the full amount of the booking and charge a cancellation fee of £50. If the total amount is less than the cancellation fee no refund will be given.
Will I be charged if I don’t show up for my reservation?
If you prepaid your booking and you do not cancel your booking before your specified pick up time we will charge the full amount of the booking. If you have not prepaid your booking and do not cancel there will be no charge
Accidental damage excess £1500
Accidental damage excess for Young Drivers between ages of 21-25 years old may vary depending on the insurers discretion. Hirer will be made aware of exact excess before hire of the van is agreed.
